Style{in} Skirts: Bright Colors
A few of the munchkins started asking me questions, like when I was going to go to PetSmart to get fish, and if they could go with me... and Andie said, in her funny accent and innocent way, "Guys, stop asking her questions... Happy Casey hasn't waken up yet."
I had to smile.
After coffee, and several more hours to give "Happy Casey"a chance to "waken" up, I did take them on some errands. However, taking kids shopping isn't exactly the encouragement "Happy Casey" wants to get out of bed.
She never did quite wake up today...
Since the only reason I had to get out of my pajamas today was a trip to PetSmart and the boys' soccer game, and I wasn't in the mood to be particular with jewelry or a high-maintenance outfit, I did something simple.
Something I love about the "art of fashion" is bright colors. Taking outfits that are simple and spicing them up a bit is something I definitely enjoy.

Easy headband. And great, because when I take a shower in the morning, my hair is notoriously unpredictable. Headbands come to the rescue, and are very low-maintenance (especially if I use them to keep my hair OUT of my face...)
Another thrift store find. I almost passed them up, and I'm so glad I didn't!
Be brave with some color every once in a while, even if it is just for a run to PetSmart. It'll give you more confidence because you'll feel a tad bit fabulous. Stretch your comfort zones! (And thrift stores are the perfect place to find the materials;)And who knows? Maybe some color will help the "Happy You" wake up quicker in the mornings, too;)

Capturing Cattails, Days 1-4
Hello people :)
I'm going to be starting an October challenge (4 days into October... haha) to both motivate me to take more pictures and grow in my photography skills. I will be taking and posting one picture a day, with the idea that it will either be sharing an adorable face, an incredibly messy kitchen after a smoothie disaster has occurred, something I wore, food I made, whatever. Endless possibilities are around the corner. Documenting a bit of my life, too.
The title of the challenge (Captured Cattails) comes from the title of my blog. And, just in case ya'll haven't caught on yet:
The pics may be accompanied by other related photos, or be flying solo; they may include a random story about my awkward times at Starbucks, or any kind of thoughts I may decide to ramble about. I'm just gonna have fun with it. And ya'll are invited:)
So, to make up for the four days of October that I didn't have this on the agenda, I'll share a few of my favorite documented "moments" from recently:

Cattails = photos;
Rabbit Trails = thoughtless/thoughtful ramblings;
Thistlefish = fiction (which I have not tackled yet... I'm working on it).

Walzac Wedding
So I promised I would post more pictures from the Walzac wedding. And I finally got around to finish them!!
Like I said before, I was just the assistant; my Uncle Rob was the actual photographer. My job was just to catch "moments," to follow the girls around while they got ready, and to shoot details.
Anyways, here are a few of my favorite "moments:"
Getting ready:
Right before the ceremony:
There were no pictures allowed during the ceremony, so this is right afterwards:
The reception was in a friend's front yard. The decorations were super simple, but it drew even more attention to the couple, opposed to demanding that the centerpieces take center stage.
Arriving at the reception as Mr. and Mrs!
First dance:
Groom and the Grandmother:
Groom and the mother:
Bride and father:
Flower girl (my adorable cousin;)
Details!
Favorites:
Being photographer was so much fun. I can't wait for another opportunity to present itself!
