Magical Moments with a One Year Old

It still feels very strange to hear myself say "I have a one-year-old." Wait, when exactly did that happen??

Now that he is a couple months past that, the amazement only grows to see him changing so much. Every day I feel like there's a new trick or skill or curiosity.

Someone asked me the other day what my favorite thing to do with him was.
The answer: Everything. Because I can be entertained for hours just watching him. He walks around, explores, investigates, tries something, tries it again, tries it a different way... To watch him process the world around him is magical.

A few favorite moments from the past couple of weeks:

- He noticed an airplane for the first time, and after staring for a minute, actually lifted up his arms like he wanted to grab it
- He walked funny when I put Crocs on his feet for the first time (kinda like those videos of dogs with shoes on)
- He flips through books on his own now... or he will walk to a bookshelf, pick one out, and bring it to me
- He backs up to things, trying to sit on them (even if they're way higher than he is)
- Golf balls are still one of his FAVORITE things... but truly, any kind of ball... and he can basically dribble a ball already #soccerbaby #inevitable
- If he rolls something under a cabinet and can't reach it, he'll come get me, point to the cabinet, and say "oh oh" (makes my heart melt to see him try and communicate with me!)
- He says Da Da, but only says Mama when he's upset or crying (lol)
- LOVES both of his grandparents' houses, and knows where the pantry is at each house
- Smells essential oils and flowers, and says "mmm"

The list could just go on and on... Safe to say, I love everything about him.
So so thankful I get to be his mom.
