The Drink of Olympians

To be honest, I have no idea if Olympic champs actually drink this. They're shakes are probably five times as intense. But it LOOKS like something they would drink. And it's so healthy they probably wouldn't turn down the opportunity to try some.

(Pictures aren't the greatest; I just snapped them on my phone real quick.)

It's SUPER easy, SUPER yummy, and SUPER healthy:
(makes enough for two)

-2 handfuls of kale
-1 avacado
-juice of 1 lemon (I only use half, but if you like your smoothies on the more sour side - go for it!)
-1 cup of COLD water

After that, you can drink it, or you can pretty much add whatever fruit you have the hankering for. The past two mornings I have used frozen strawberries and pineapple, and a tiny bit of honey.

This smoothie is great because you get servings of vegetables, fats/oils (from the avocado), and fruit.
To balance it out and add protein you can eat some almonds, or I added a soy protein to is this morning (something like lactose-free kefir, you might say).

Either way, you'll feel great (like an Olympian;) and you'll stay energized through most of the day! So, man-up and try some;)

Have a great Wednesday!

James Wedding

These past months have been nothing but hectic. Balancing work, a boyfriend, family, church, and a social life (which is practically non-existent at this point) is way tough.

Growing up stinks. Haha.

Anyways, I obviously can't  post about everything that's happened this summer. But something super excited that happen a few weeks ago, was I had the opportunity to take pictures before a friends' wedding! Josiah's older sister, Lydia, was marrying her terrific guy, and I was thrilled to be involved with the event.

I don't have any pictures of the wedding itself, but here are a few of my favorite "behind-the-scenes" scenes that I snapped;)

On high-alert... just in case the groom happens to be around;)

Pictures at Waterside. So perfect..

Lydia...
...and her grand groom.
On the way! (Taken by Bethany)
(Quick prayer before the ceremony)

Lydia was definitely a calm bride. I was very impressed. I'm gonna be a mess;)

Thanks for being such beautiful models, ladies! And thanks again, Lyd, for letting me be a part of your big day. I felt like family:) There's no doubt you and Tim have a great future together. Can't wait to hear about all of ya'll's CRAZY adventures!
