"Oh I can't wait to see
What you will grow to be
Or what will happen when you stretch your wings.

I know there'll be sometimes
When you will doubt it's right
But know they'll always be somewhere
You can call
Home."

Style{in} Skirts: Grey Day Grays

Question: How do you spell "grey/gray"?
Either way, I'm really liking... that color.
This outfit wasn't one of my most flattering of concoctions, but it was good for working in a construction office, where comfort is needed, and conversations with construction workers can be common.

THESE hot tomales were from Forever21, and were kind of a splurge at $20.
But that's ok.
What's the point of thrifting if you can't splurge some of that saved cash every now and then? ;)

I've been looking for a good maxi skirt for a long time, and this one was only 10 bucks!
Pretty good deal, if you ask me.
I like the freedom you feel from the length, yet the classiness you feel from the straight cut.
boyfriend cardigan: target // greenish vneck: target //
maxi skirt: plato's closet // HOT shoes: forever 21
Another thing I like about maxi's is that you can wear whatever you want underneath.
Hence; the socks that don't match anything, and the leggings with giant holes in the knees.
Anyways,
hope ya'll are having a fanTAStic Wednesday.
Half-way to the weekend!

Little Photos

Had a photo shoot with the Little Miss this afternoon. These are just a few of my favorites.
More to come!

Hope you've had a terrific Tuesday. :)

Winter is Made of . . .

Hot chocolate at midnight. Comfort. Over-sized sweaters and leggings. Fuzzy blankets. Marshmallows in good company. Polka-dot socks. Chai-tea kind of friends. Blue fingers.
Pink noses and little toeses.

Have a lovely evening.

Snow is for Sweaters .

We didn't bother bundling up.
We just kind of went as we liked.

We stayed outside 'til our finger fell off
And the flurries had turned our clothes white.

The camera was soaked, our sweaters soggy,
But we laughed as we shook off the flakes.

Then looked at each other, ran right back outside,
Because it's irresistible, this beauty He's made!!

A Bone to Pick with Beauty.

Hey! We finally got snow!!
It's beautiful.

But,
of course,
it happened on a Friday night.
When I had plans.
And places to be.
Wahwahwahhhhhh.

So me and Faith are here,
snowed in,
with nothing to do.

Faith: "We could go on a walk in the freezing cold.. and die!"
Casey: (Does not look even remotely tempted to get off her couch and die.)

Anyways.
Hope ya'll are having a great Friday!
And aren't stranded by fluffy, frozen whiteness.

Love, Casey

Belly Flop

Two things you wouldn't know about me unless you've lived with me:
1. I like eating from mugs.
2. I like drinking from mason jars.

I don't eat much, though, or often. This wasn't really a problem until I started exercising a lot.
Now I need more protein, but I still don't eat much.
So I've been trying to incorporate more protein in my meals without adding to the portion size and without cheating my dairy, egg and gluten allergies.

The Result?

A weird pasta, that was almost a success.
- brown rice spaghetti noodles
- refried beans
- chicken breast
- crushed tomatoes
- salt and garlic

It was pretty good, considering it consisted mainly of leftovers..
The only problem was, it was a bit flavorless. If I knew more about spices, I probably could have fixed it.
But hey, I'm learning :)

Just in Case You Were Wondering . . .

I bundled up. I drank a smoothie. I answer lots of phone calls. I wrote letter. I ate late-night peanut butter. I did not wear heels to work. I wrestled with a printer.
And, of course, because nobody cares, I had awesome post-workout hair.
What did you do today?

A Speck

There was nothing particularly extraordinary about today.
But it was a day.
A speck of a day.

However, I'm exhausted.
Is exhausted blogging as dangerous as drunk tweeting?
We shall see!

Sunday night left me fearing this week would be a bit of a train-wreck, but I think I'm feeling confident enough to face it head-on.
Circumstances at my dad's office have opened up an opportunity for me to work this week
which is stupendous!
Sorta.
I'm caught between "This is such a blessing! I have a job!"
and "Ohhhh-my-word, I have so much to do, so many people to see, and so much to plan before I leave! How on earth am I going to get everything done on top of working?!"

So you know all of those fabulous posts I had planned for this week?
Well, they might not happen.
Just kidding. I didn't have anything planned. Haha.

ANYWAYS.
Today was good.

Rocked these babies all stinkin' day.
My feet are unthankful.
(And yes, I'm taking pictures in the bathroom at the office... classy, right?)
Also, I think it's incredibly ironic that every time I have an crazygood hair day,
it's the one day it doesn't matter.
How come it doesn't look like this everyday?
Humble pie, people. Humble pie.
Just watch; tomorrow night I will be looking like some sort of half- permed Golden Retriever.
Between work and the Y, I got a Health Nut smoothie.
Total score, too, because they took so long that they gave me a bag of chips and two bottles of water for freeeeeee.
And hey! Meet my new tennis shoes!
I've been using my mom's old tennis shoes for a long time now, so it feels good to have some that are actually mine,
and, yes,
they are PINK.

So I was totally legit in cycling class today.
Mostly because I was wearing tennis shoes that were at least 5x as fabulous as everybody else's.

________

So! How'd I do?

Hopefully this was as, or more, entertaining than drunk tweeting. ;)
Just kidding. It probably wasn't.

Hope ya'll are having a wonderful week.
Full of delightful "speck-of-a-day" days that are worth remembering. :)
