No Mothers, No Brothers... and No Boyfriends;)

The last weekend of August, my dad pulled together what we like to call a "No Mothers, No Brothers."  In a nutshell: a Daddy-Daughter weekend with no rules, no limits, and no health food. ;)
There were 8 dads, and almost 20 girls in all, and we stayed in a terrific cabin near our crabbing destination: Lake Mattamuskeet.
It didn't take long for the dads to start relaxing once we got there;)
The cabin was surrounded by beautiful fields.
All crammed into one corner of the restaurant.

A beautiful, early morning, and a perfect start to our adventures.

On our way to crabbing.

The Blue Crabs we caught were amazing! So pretty. (Taken by Bec Crumrine)
Mr. Williams and one of his daughters, Jamie.
 Mr. Crumrine and Bethany.
We had a great time with other family members, too;)

Brooke and Bec. (Don't be deceived... these were two of the Master Crabbers!)
 Daddy Dearest.

Everyone got the chance to hold one...
... but some didn't particularly want to;)
I chased Bethany around with a big one for a few minutes... just cuz I love her;) Her face was worth it, yeah?
The road drove right through the middle of Lake Mattamuskeet, and we crabbed on either side.

It was a terrific time altogether. I'm so thankful for a father who takes the time to spend time with us, and love us, and hype us up on sugar treats.
I had a blast, Pops! Thanks again:)

The Drink of Olympians

To be honest, I have no idea if Olympic champs actually drink this. They're shakes are probably five times as intense. But it LOOKS like something they would drink. And it's so healthy they probably wouldn't turn down the opportunity to try some.

(Pictures aren't the greatest; I just snapped them on my phone real quick.)

It's SUPER easy, SUPER yummy, and SUPER healthy:
(makes enough for two)

-2 handfuls of kale
-1 avacado
-juice of 1 lemon (I only use half, but if you like your smoothies on the more sour side - go for it!)
-1 cup of COLD water

After that, you can drink it, or you can pretty much add whatever fruit you have the hankering for. The past two mornings I have used frozen strawberries and pineapple, and a tiny bit of honey.

This smoothie is great because you get servings of vegetables, fats/oils (from the avocado), and fruit.
To balance it out and add protein you can eat some almonds, or I added a soy protein to is this morning (something like lactose-free kefir, you might say).

Either way, you'll feel great (like an Olympian;) and you'll stay energized through most of the day! So, man-up and try some;)

Have a great Wednesday!

James Wedding

These past months have been nothing but hectic. Balancing work, a boyfriend, family, church, and a social life (which is practically non-existent at this point) is way tough.

Growing up stinks. Haha.

Anyways, I obviously can't  post about everything that's happened this summer. But something super excited that happen a few weeks ago, was I had the opportunity to take pictures before a friends' wedding! Josiah's older sister, Lydia, was marrying her terrific guy, and I was thrilled to be involved with the event.

I don't have any pictures of the wedding itself, but here are a few of my favorite "behind-the-scenes" scenes that I snapped;)

On high-alert... just in case the groom happens to be around;)

Pictures at Waterside. So perfect..

Lydia...
...and her grand groom.
On the way! (Taken by Bethany)
(Quick prayer before the ceremony)

Lydia was definitely a calm bride. I was very impressed. I'm gonna be a mess;)

Thanks for being such beautiful models, ladies! And thanks again, Lyd, for letting me be a part of your big day. I felt like family:) There's no doubt you and Tim have a great future together. Can't wait to hear about all of ya'll's CRAZY adventures!
